The imperialism in Africa started in the 1870's it did not take that long for them to become controlled by many countries. By the early 1890's all but to places in Africa was already controlled Ethiopia and Liberia were the only cities still independent. the mayjor powers to take over Africa were Great Britian, France, Germany, Belgium., Portugal, and Italy. the French controlled most of the northwestern part of Africa. The king of Belgium "King Leopold" would get the hands of many people cut off if they could not supply the right amount f rubber.
EFFECTS- There were many good and amany bad effects do to the imperialism. Some good effects were they had better transportation and communication systems such as the trains railroads and then there was the telegraph and the telephone. It improved the
